S2:E14 Tips We Use At Home

Jeremy Rice Season 2 Episode 14

If you're anything like us, we love a tip or trick that changes the way we do something for the better. I mean, right. Don't you? Those little and often easy things can totally make a difference in our day, and it never fails that someone we know, knew, and for some reason never divulged, RUDE!

Well, today, the three of us are not gatekeeping our favorites that we use in our homes. Any longer. We each are sharing tips and tricks of things that we do that have totally changed the way that our home works for us, both design-wise and functionally. And of course, as you would've imagined, there's a few laughs along the way, and we learned that Dwayne purposefully hid a light switch from his parents. Honestly, it makes total sense. Okay, roll the music.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Good morning guys.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

yo.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

How we doing

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, now that we've bitched for 10

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

this morning?

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

we bitched for 10 minutes before we started record. I'm great.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Mm-hmm. It is more me than anybody talking, but I feel better,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

You know what, we all have a day.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, I, I shouldn't say this. um,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I'm looking at the screen

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

now and, and I'm looking at two people that either

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

are

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

of therapy.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

should have

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

been in therapy or should think about

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

There's three people on the screen.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

He only sees two. Stuart I took, he can't see himself.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I can't see myself. Yeah, and see, there you go. I

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

maybe there lies the problem. You gotta see yourself before you see other people.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

There you go.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that's what therapy taught me.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

The reason I say that is I,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

convincing and I was like,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

they, my therapist,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I just vent for seven minutes and I'm like, okay, I'm moving on. Bye.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the cheapest therapy anybody ever gets.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, for me it is. I about you two,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

We have our own meetings after our podcast. Well. Today what I thought we would discuss is, you know, we are in a lot of people's homes and we have gained some experience of things that have worked and haven't worked and things that we've utilized in our homes. Um, seeing how things that maybe we overlooked before, how it is, I don't, I hate to use the word a game changer, but how it really u it changes how we utilize our home, both in style and in function, and. I think that our listeners would really benefit.'cause I think we have, we might have some surprising ones or some ones that maybe someone hasn't thought of. Like, oh, that really could change the way that I use my house. And I thought we could share that today. I. How's that sound? All right. Awesome. What has changed your life?

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

changed.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, oh, let me start the list. Um, no, you know, my number one thing, and this is always my go-to when it comes to a home that, um. Like I, I've got a client, Vicki, who has lowered more grandchildren than I can even start to think about. There's so many. And she's always trying to find more seating in the house. When, when all the kids come over and they bring all the grandkids, they're always trying to find additional seating. And in certain homes it can definitely be a challenge.'cause you don't have room to put another sofa, you don't have room to put another chair. Right. You, you, you always have a limit of how much you can do. So my go-to for this is always Ottomans and Poofs. And they are like what I consider like the little secret ninja weapon. You can shove'em, tuck'em, you can put'em everywhere. Um, and along this would be something like a garden stool as well that you could possibly use for like a side table for a chair. You can actually pull that and it uses a, a, a, uh, seat for someone. But if you've got a coffee table and then you've got room between the coffee table and maybe the fireplace or the TV or whatever's on other side, use you some poofs. Get you some Ottomans, something that works with the room. Have a couple of those nestled on the other side of that. And it's easy for the youngins as I refer to it. Uh, once they come over that those, they can sit there. Or if somebody needs to prop their feet up, it's a great, uh, way for them to use it. I use, in our living room, I have, there's really only seating 4 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, but. When I use the poofs and the benches, I can automatically add six more seats in my living room. And they're already in there. They're just not big and, and in the way. So I have two under windows. I have two in front of the fireplace, and then, oh, where are the other two? Oh, there's a garden stool and then there's another table that can possibly used. And it never fails when we have company that come over and we always end up in that room.'cause it, it doesn't work in our sunroom, but when we work, we are in that room. There's always room for everybody to sit and it's, it's comfortable. So those are always like

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

a

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

a lot of,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Right.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

parlor.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

well, well, you know, our living room is kind of, it's big. I mean, it's not huge.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

big.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

It, you know, it is big. Um, I. So we, but so it seats those. It actually, if we bring in some dining chairs from the, the kitchen, we can actually fit like 14 in there comfortably around, like in a circle, if you will. Um, if we're playing a game, you know, because that happens from time to time. But those are the, the easy things that you can tuck in there, that it totally changes how it works because now you've automatically got a seat or somebody feels comfortable. And I always think people will o overlook them. So I love them. You, you can never go wrong with them.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yeah.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah. Well, no, I agree. Even though,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Even though you know. The rooms at Tara all seat 40 some, sometimes we have 42 people.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

yeah.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

No, but in our little breakfast room, it's, which is exactly. What we built it for was because it's right there next to the kitchen and I want people to sit there and eat and bleed into there because everybody wants to be in the kitchen anyway. And even

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

even though the house

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

large, the kitchen is

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

pretty closed off.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

from the rest of the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

And so that breakfast room makes people go over there. Well. There's only a table with four chairs in there, and then

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Everybody, always.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to the dining room, grabs other chairs, and brings'em back there. So we have these little, we got little folding chairs that kind of tuck away in the laundry room, you know, not like the Samsonite ones from 1970. They're cute little painted monkey chairs, you know? But they can pull'em in there. And then when they're not in use, they just kind of store right next to the washer and dryer

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I love that's where your mind went. My mind went to like old church revival under a tent chair.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

So you said folding tears

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

So yeah, no, it makes perfect sense. Perfect sense

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

and you know another place

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

hidden seat,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

those.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

speak.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Another place to put those little ottomans is I always love to, if you have like a foyer table and it's, um, well, if it's a console or if it's a round table, I'll always try to put two underneath there because that's another place where they fit. They look good ultimately, right? Like there's a good look style to them, but they're also easy to grab and take anywhere else you need them. So I'll sneak'em, I'll put'em in everywhere. I don't have as many stools ottomans in the house, so I will have pieces of furniture.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I think over each, we go around our house account, how many little tier and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

And

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and Ottomans. We

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

kind go, oh God. Yeah.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

of crap in

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

God.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yeah.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, you know, I didn't even realize I had that many,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Our

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

our formal, uh,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

dining

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

room open to foyer

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the most part, and it's got, it's just has six chairs around the table. It's a round table, but I've got two more out in the foyer and we're always able just to, you know, make

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

10.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

or

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

truthfully, and go pull those chairs in from the foyer and put those around the table. But they're always in the pretty,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

but then it's like your extra seating Yeah.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

easily pulled.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Over there and really think it out. Um, you plan ahead. It's like, yeah, that's an easy way to add

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

more

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

seating. Always rest of the year, you know, 360 days,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

outta the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

year they look good because

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

few

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

times you need to around.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

around,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

perfect solution

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Right.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Okay.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I like what you're saying. Okay.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, well, and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

actually

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I learned this even though being in many, many, many people's homes, I learned this secret from Jeremy,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Uh,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Jeremy right here, Jeremy

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

me.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

partner Jeremy.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

not, not the

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Ha.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Jeremy or the Jeremy before or the other

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, he Correct. There's been a lot of Jeremy's,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

homosexual with the name Jeremy.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

there's a lot of those too.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

There's a lot of them. My age group. There are,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

uh, but, current, Jeremy kind of played off of when I said something about work, Jeremy, that lighting controls

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

yes. Praise Jesus. Praise Jesus. My head, my hands are to the the rec ceiling. And

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I was like, this is stupid. We don't need to do this Lutron system bullshit all over the house. Listen, I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I want more Lutron switches. I want more, more, more. Because were

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

were literally.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

10 or 12 minutes walking through the house, turning on and off lights. Throughout the house, you know, because you want some lights on somewhere so you don't have this dark cavern.'cause you know, we only live in one room, but

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Everybody does have a.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yep.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

know,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Always.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and you

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

you know.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you pull in at night and I'm like, oh God, there should be some lights up in that window, or there should be some lights over there or whatever. So. Half of the house is literally on a Lutron system automatically turns'em on and off and exterior lights, and the porch lights dim down. After they've been on for two hours, they dim down to 50% and they stay that way. Then they go off at a certain time,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Which is super cool.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

And then other lights in the house

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Are

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

are on basically

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Lowe's, you know,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

you know, six

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

wall

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

timer

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you can set every

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

day,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you know, come on at seven, go off at 11, come on at seven, go off.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

which it kind of

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it kind

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

creates life in the

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

without you really having to. Live

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

house and I love it.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

now I've started doing that for customers. I'm like, okay,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

We're gonna hide.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

over here and that's gonna be your timer plug and that's what's gonna happen here and blah, blah, blah. are like, well, I don't know if I wanna spend that extra money. I was like, spend it.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

will love it. So.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm. Goes back to

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

what

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

we know, we all

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

hone it. Lighting is everything

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

right. And how you achieve it. Some can be inexpensive.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and some needs to be a little expensive, but thought put into it and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Lot

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

is everything. And so I think that's why, uh, one of my secret weapons

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

is,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

uh,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it's lot

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

'cause specifically I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I art life, because that's just a beautiful way

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and I, I,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

like you Stewart, have learned to love the art light because of this, Jeremy. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Not no, but art

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Does it highlight that piece of art that was painted on a Tuesday at Sunset,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you go. Oh, doc, you're making fun of me. Uh,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

so

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

one thing it does

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to lighting and honing on that, that I, cause lighting is very important, uh,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

is

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the bulb. Is

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

over,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

right? Yeah, absolutely.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

color of the,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

bulb, the wattage

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

of the, uh,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that's so important. So like I have some sconces, uh, that are

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

In the basement and they go, uh, it's

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it's

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

in the basement first. You gotta realize, right?

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it's a walkout,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

but

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

there's only light

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

coming

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

in. So this is a dark hallway

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Going

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

from upstairs to the basement. So it's just a long,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

dark

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

hallway. So I've put sconces in there

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

are always on. Okay. Now the other thing is knowing that my parents are gonna live there.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

some, or all the time I hid

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Light.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the light switch. Okay? You like, why would you hide

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

This is my favorite detail ever of your home. I did not know this. This is hysterical. A true story.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It's in,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

There's

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

switches

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

out in the hallway that turn

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you know, the main lights on and the upstairs steps and stuff like that. But the light switch that

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

turns.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the sconce off is not with those that you would think they would be purposely done. It is inside the storage closet door and it's, which is the, in between the two sconces. You

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

have to open the door.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

turn that on and off to access those.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

The reason I did that.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It's'cause those monkeys will fall in that hallway.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Those monkeys will fall in that hallway and those monkeys would not leave those

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Uhhuh.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

on all the time. That needs to stay on all the time. Right. Because it's a dark hallway and you will like, the monkeys will fall. I thought if I make it difficult, they will

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Leave it alone.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

And it's worked by the way.'cause don't even think technically they know where the switch is. So one of the things I had to start figuring out was, okay, if I'm gonna leave these sconces on all the time, I don't need it to be bright light. I just need it to be a dimly lit enough, almost

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

like a,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

effect to it.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

so each of the SCO

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

hold

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

twos,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

So

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

typically you would put

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

size

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

bulb in four watt.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

or 40 if it's

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah. It, it depends, but yeah.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yeah.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

You know what I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

You know, in

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it? Night light bulbs.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

fifteens, four watts or five for four. Yeah. Right. So.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

eight watts per it is just enough to give it a soft glow. They're always on.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I don't have to fre about, oh God, out there, I'm leaving

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

bulbs and burning the earth

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the earth because I'm using that much electric,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It's

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

using a minimal amount of electricity. But their, their safety purposes primarily, but aesthetically

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

they're

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

pretty because it has,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

nice little glow always when you. But

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

then also my sweet little

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

won't

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

fall themselves. So,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

So,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

but it's, it's the

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

ball in that scenario

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

was just as important

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

as

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

all these.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

details that.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, you know, so I have my little list of things I was gonna talk about. Well, Stewart talked about timers. It was on my list because it did, it does change until we use our house.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

It does. It totally. And Dwayne talked about art lights or lights, but they, it was also on my list, so at least we are consistent. But lighting is, is. So important, but this is my favorite story of all time. Dwayne, you having those lights that don't turn off on your parents?'cause we, we do know them.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

They're,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

people, aren't they? They're

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

yeah. Yeah. But you know, I'm

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to figure out how

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

to navigate

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Issues. And that was one of them basically

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Just don't touch it.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

leave it alone. So how do

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Leave alone. Hide.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

right?

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

It's hardwired on mom. It never turns off. I can see it now.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It, yeah, I, I did lie to her. I didn't lie to her. I won't do that, but

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I just, just, okay, so you another trip

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Is in

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

my son's bedroom. Uh, teenage

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

boys

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

are

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and he's no longer a teenager, by the way. I'm getting old, but teenage boys are idiots.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Okay. Yeah. So

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

in

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

this bedroom,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

there's a closet behind his bed the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

The way we made it, how

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

was made. So

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it's a pretty, pretty ingenious little

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Design

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

that,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

um,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

uh, I came up with. So, but basically

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it's a

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

a closet in the, that, that whole train changing area. Well, he would go in there and just take off 12 different, put on 12 different outfits, and they just pile up and pile up, pile up.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

And

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

It's like a water zone. But more importantly, he leaves the lights on 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Drove

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

me, Craig.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

said, Ian,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

turn the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the closet light off. Just turn the light off. Nope. Turn the light. Nope. It was on always. So how I fixed that one in,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

took it out and I put a sensor in. When you walk into it, the light comes on and it stays on

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

five

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

minutes or so and, and it goes back off. So don't, um, don't dismiss that if you mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

no. Yeah, I need to do that up in J'S closet'cause it is on 24

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Hours

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

a day. I'm like, how do you not turn off this closet light? What is it? A night light? And you just don't want to tell me it's a night light. I mean, is that what it is? But no.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

did teenage boys. We did it in our guest rooms upstairs, in the closets, uh, Dwayne, because we, the, the lights were, you know, the, the closets in this house, uh, this.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

like the eaves or something?

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Uh, gather in the eve, but the, the, they put in those kinds where you had to pull the little chain to turn'em on and off. Like they didn't put a switch in the door. And, you know, the, the house was built in 50 50, 52. And so those little chains that they had there, that they used to put there, had all broken off. And so they, they, somebody died like a shoe lease or something on'em before we bought the house. And those had all ripped and were really short. And it's like I had to like stand on my tippy toes and reach up to try to grab'em and I could never grab some of'em. And I was like, I am not doing this. We're replacing them, but I just want to put a motion activator switch on'em, and that's, that's been like the best thing, just to be able to open those, not have to worry about the light. As soon as I open the door, they come on. Mm-hmm. I hadn't thought about that one, Dwayne, but I agree. Mm-hmm.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

for

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yeah, that's what I need to do.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

of these things that we've talked about, for the most part are very inexpensive, typical things that you can get online easily or at at the local Ace Harvest Resort or Lowe's or something like that. So none of these is just being thoughtful in putting thought

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Into how you fixing the problem. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I, I want to do them to our, uh, closets downstairs. Actually, all of the closets,'cause we have this little, uh, linen, like where we keep all the cleaning supplies. By the way, ladies and gentlemen, I do not know. We have,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to start church.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I love my husband. I love him so much, but cleaning is his thing. You know, people have things right? Like they, they can, they, they, they have a thing, right? Some people's things are motorcycles. Some people's things are, uh. I don't know. Opera, I don't know. It's not mine, but Station wagon. Station wagon. So yeah, like cars and station wagons. My husband's things is cleaning. One of the first things he got on on TikTok was Clean Talk or Clean, I think that's what they call it. I don't know. It's, he was, and then he was learning all this stuff about clean. We had more cleaning supplies. We had, this is a full closet, a cleaning supply. There's everything you might need to clean anything in this house and everything is color coded. And there are towels. There are specific towels that you can only use on certain things, and he doesn't understand why I get stressed out when he asks me to clean something. I'm like, what color towel do I use? He's any of'em. I was like, I know that's not true. I know there's a specific color.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

yes, my Jeremy's the same way. He

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah, Lord.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and different spritzers and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

smell

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

variety of,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and whatever.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

like, I know that I can't use certain things on the marble countertop, like I know that, right? But I'm like, oh, anyway, anyway, that closet is dark and just like you're going into the, the depths of hell or some kind of cave cavern to get into that. And he bought some, like little, um, something I'm sure he found at one of those displays as you're walking out of a store, you know, where they just have things where you buy last minute out of, you know. Craziness. And it's one of those like the light switches that turns on or it connects to the wall through like some kind of foam tape and you turn it on. It's supposed to be like the world's brightest like LED battery thing. It is blue. It is awful. I hate it. I wanna, I wanna replace all the closet lights like that in our house. It's just awful.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that should be your love for him to

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

The.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

into for him.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, I would need to hire a, a, a a moving crew to come in and move all the supplies out first, but maybe I'll do that the next time he has to go on a work trip.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

there

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Lord, you know, you said that

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Easy thing to know what Stewart's thing is. And Stewart's thing is, station

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

wagon.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and a bag of peanut m and m that's laying on his desk for 12 years and needs

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Shut up.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, what's, what's Jeremy's thing?

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It's so funny, my

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Jeremy,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

or

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

or is this Jeremy? Me evidently me.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Uh,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Jeremy.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

What's Jeremy?

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

this Jeremy's thing

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Is stealing every pin.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the store and breaking off the little clip

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I haven't done that in so long.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

because he's like, oh, I,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh my God.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

And then he'll be like.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

a clip. I'm like, yeah, for the 900th pin you just broke a clip. And then those pins sit there and then those are the pins you pick up and that little thing pokes you right into your thumb crevice where he broke it off and scratches you.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Is that you're talking about the cap and he chews on the cap, or is that something

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

No, the clip that, you know how I nerd that out and clip it on

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah. Yeah. He put, he clips it on us

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and then that piece, and then that piece of

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

piece plastic

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

holding it just jams in there. So then I up throwing'em

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

away. Uh, okay. I will admit

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Mm-hmm.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

used to do that. Uh, I mean, but I'm gonna say like 10 years ago,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Weekly.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

haven't, no, I haven't. I don't even use a pen that often Now.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I would know if you took a pen outta my office.'cause it would be

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Be sitting on my desk.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

no clip on it.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Oh my God.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

like, oh. So he left the broke one for me so you can go break another one.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, we'll start keeping record listeners. We'll start, we'll keep you updated,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

in a while. So

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

know what I.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

that you

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Turn your magic

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

upside down. Mm-hmm.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

So,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

do,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

uh.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

not upside down. That's right. Side up.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

well to the rest of the world,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

To the rest of the world. It is.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Right?

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

The lid goes down. Mm-hmm.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

But you know what I do now?

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Magic markers are up, quote unquote upside down every time.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

They last longer.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

well, first I know if I ever took it from his desk, I better turn it and I better turn it right. But secondly, I was like, oh. Right. I was like, because bitch don't like people taking stuff off his desk.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

No.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, that's another story for another day.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

God damn. There's.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

But I turned, so I I, I turned the, uh, the pen, the marker upside

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Upside down.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

of you.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh, well thanks.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

You're

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Well, it makes sense because you know when you have a,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

in 30 years.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

well, when you have a pen, it just goes in that way.'cause all the ink flows at the bottom. But if you,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I get it.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I know.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

didn't get it until you did it. And I said, why you do that? And you were very kind. I was like, like, oh yeah, well I'll that to

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

My life. Okay. Anyway, so what's her next thing that we,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that we detail that we

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

well, the, the next thing that I think that people know that exists, but if they've not had it, they think that they don't need to do it. And while there may be some truth into that, once you do it, it will change. It will change how it works. Blackout lining on curtains.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Always,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Always. So, um, you know, when you're, if you're doing custom draperies or you're doing any, any kinda draperies and they've got like the lining on the back, I'll always, mm, I'm trying to think if I would say I would do it anywhere, but I mean, really truthfully, for us, the only place that we do close our curtains, uh, that we stay in, I mean, is in our, in our bedroom, right? Like in the rest of the house, we close them. I don't have blackout there, but in the bedroom. Mm. Honey, listen. The first time we got those and we put'em on, and I felt like I was in this cave and some abyss, it. Mm. It was the best night's sleep. Oh. In a sound machine. Oh Lord God. Um,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to that too.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

um, but, um, once you, once you add it, once you have it, oh, it's the best, the best sleep. Mm-hmm. And,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

and I have blackout on every,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

window treatment in the house. The

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the only ones.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

are the bedroom,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

but

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

But having that blackout

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the wall,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

also

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

light.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

filter

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Done filter

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

curtains and through there and you know, show the PS and all that other kind of stuff. It literally keeps the light in the window. So yeah, every window.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Everyone argue with

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

that.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

one.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yeah.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I, I mean, it doesn't cost anymore, so I don't think if it does it's pennies.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Uh,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

while you're talking about it, go

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Go and

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

hang up to the floor

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

high

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

water. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

take, take the wall, take the whole

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

at the crown and bring it down.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

My, my struggle is now when we go to, uh, hotels, you know, if you, if you stay in a, and we're gonna say any hotel that's not like a motel. Right? And, and, and it's been a long time since I've been in a motel. Um, that's where my family always went. When we went to Pigeon Forge, there was always a motel we went to. Um, but most of the, the, um, draperies are blackout right. However. The way that they're made and installed, they don't always cover all the light, and so you always have like this. Just horrible light and it pisses me off. Like I would almost burn the hotel down now that I've said that I'm gonna be in a hotel and it's gonna burn down. I'm like, I'm gonna be the prime suspect. But it just makes me so mad when you can't, like, cover all the light and I'm dragging suitcases along the wall to get it. So, and it does kind of make your life a little bit harder when you travel. Um, if it doesn't work the same way, but it do it, people do it, do it blackouts. Mm-hmm. Um, another item that I have is, uh, and we've talked about this on here before, so, so a lot of these things may not be, or, well, I don't wanna say it that way. We've talked about this on here before, is the stair runner. Um, because this is one of the things in my life that I wish I would've done differently when we installed a runner up the stairs. Um, I did something that I knew was neutral and would last me a long time. And would work with a lot of stuff that I put on, and now I look at it every day and I'm bored. I. I want something, I want, I want I, I, I just want something just fun. And I, and I realized that I could have done something and, uh, I could've gotten really tired of it. But, you know, ID Dwayne, I think of yours. I know you're a fun leopard, um, going up the, the staircase, and then I just thought there's so many options when it comes out there that that's really a fun place that you can add some personality to your home. And, and people overlook it or they do what I did, they went safe and I regret it when

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

When you

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

you put,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

cleaning that closet out, have a tragic accident,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh, bleach it.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

fell, it out, and destroyed that stair runner, you're like, there you go. I had to replace it to.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

uh, that I follow, uh, a um, a designer who is, uh, was renovating their home and I think they built on an addition or something and, um, there was some. Uh, something that was going into the house and the, the painters. Oh no, it was stain, that's what it was. They were staining part of the, uh, the flooring, the new flooring that went down, and I guess their cat. They weren't able to keep it corralled.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

And so the cat ran through the stain, which the stain on the, the wood, it can easily be fixed. But what couldn't be fixed was the brand new sisal stair runner going up the stairs. And so you saw these black dots or these dark brown dots going all the way up,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh geez.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

and they tried everything like, oh yeah. Yeah, but they should have covered that with,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I'll start with,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

they don't even have siic. The, it's a very, look. It's a very

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

chic

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

look right.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It is hard to

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

However, about

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

there's about

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

12 reasons not to do SI

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

si

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

in my world. First, if you anything on it,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

on it

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

right, it's done. Yeah.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

gone. It's

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Correct. Right.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I mean, it's

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

You use it, it can make it slick.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

they do, they do get slick.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

on surface

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it can slick.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

And I did a house, uh, out of town. It

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Out was

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

um,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

near the ocean, so therefore makes sense. But I was there for that week and I went wear shoes.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I'm

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

telling you, by the time that week was over, my feet were wrong

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I'm not making it up. I had to, I had to, well I get here, say I had to put socks on. I don't think I

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

socks.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

'cause I was at the beach.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Um, so I.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

think, I guess it wore flip flops. I don't know. But really my feet were raw. Uh, once it said and done so with, I said that, that cat just saved the day, got rid of that sauce. So,'cause that was a dumb idea. Anyway.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Well, she's, listen, it's, it's a different crowd. It's a different client. This is very, super high end and she'd probably replace it every two week years anyway, but

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it looks great, but it's, it's not for stairs. I, I would never

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

beautiful, beautiful.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It really is beautiful. But

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Would say

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you know,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I wouldn't have

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I wouldn't had this knowledge.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Truthfully, now

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I this knowledge.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to where I'd say, yeah, that's probably not the smartest choice when it's all and done.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

And we

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

you don't have,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and you don't

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

and don't walk on it, and you just look at it. It's great.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

when we did put a runner up on the back staircase that goes to Ally's room. Actually, you know what? I covered all the stairs because it was cherry. Lord Bill love his heart and it was high polished and it was, I just didn't like it and it was slick as shit. So I'm like, you know what, I'm not even gonna do a run. I'm just gonna cover the whole stair. So we did, and you

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

You know,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it completely changed the stairway one and two, it made it less slick. But you know,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

going up the front.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it's like, I don't know what to do up there.'cause I want to do something up there. But I also know that's gonna be a investment and it has to be correct the first time.'cause you know it's gonna be a lot of cuts.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Because it's two story winding like

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Stair and,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and uh, it is.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it's staircases.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

for,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

You probably used it this point. I find it

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

be

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

treacherous

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the, uh,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the railing is a little low

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

me.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I feel like ever it's kind of,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I like

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

kind of gonna fall

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

every time I'm walking up there. I, I remember we, we had a

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

showcase

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

house out there. I was like, God, I don't wanna go up these steps. I'm gonna die.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah. When I go up or down, I go along the wall.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yeah, I was gonna say, go along the wall and Jeremy's like, maybe we should put a railing on the wall. I was like, hell no. We're not putting a railing on this wall. He goes, well, maybe like

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Off and die,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

said, maybe like a velvet rope. I said, oh, so like we're going to the theater.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the boudoir.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

It's like, no.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Hey, here's a little trick. Uh, if you, um, because it just happened, the, the basement steps had a couple of stains on the carpeting. It's like a khaki color, and I don't know where it came from. It doesn't matter. Anyway, uh, I was talking to my sweet mama

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

And she has a camphill uh, shampoo in the basement.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and she told me where it

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

She told me where it was and I had go get it.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

But she,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I forgot it said that. She said, you don't, you don't have to do all that. Just put some, uh, baking soda on it and just rub it in and just let it sit there and then vacuum.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

And I was like, oh, I have tooo the

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

mama. It's

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

get little. Anyway, I was like, I have nothing to lose. So I

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

literally

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

just shook some baking soda on in three, four little spots. Now two later walked away, came back in, back in the

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

into gone. These

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Sucked it up.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

What was it? Spots of what? I

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

don't

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

dunno what

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

voodoo power baking

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

soda has

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

but

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

we had before?

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and they've told us about the power,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Baking soda.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

people,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

You know,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

trying aspic spot, I suppose. But, you know, I, I don't know if it hurts anything at this point, but baking soda,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

soda vinegar.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

mixed together also as your friend,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Baking soda on carpet.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Baking

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Soda or baking powder. Uh

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

powder.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Powder. The little box. little orange box. Yeah. Yeah.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Hammer. That's baking soda, ba baking, baking powder. You actually bake with it. Baking p bake baking

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Baking soda is what you'd using

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah. This is the box you put in the fridge when it stinks.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Uh.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Uh, I always go back to, well, you know, we were taping these and I'm not sure, but, uh, if this airs

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Near the 4th of July, or not after, but let's say, uh, I'm gonna talk about 4th of July. Basically, you got people coming, right? You got people coming in.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

the house.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Everybody's worried about trying to get everything done, everything perfect for

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

for

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

like, they shouldn't be in that bedroom, right? And they might not even go and live here.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

if you could

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Just concentrate

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

on your

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

on your front door,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

your

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

your foyer, and.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

bathroom first, right? Stay focused. These are the things I always say focused on.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

We'll say

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

say focused on the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

focus on the powder bathroom and it's all about the right.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

So

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

So I got accused a few years ago of being,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

cheap and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

and it came back to,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

how

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

how come we don't have

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Stewart? You'll die when you hear

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

hear

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

How come

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

come? We don't have toilet paper.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

toilet paper at our

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Mm-hmm.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

my single

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

ply,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Oh my.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Yes,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I can't even.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

use your finger. God,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

froze. There's

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

God.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Literally nothing.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

to do with money. We live way out in the country and we're on a septic tank, we had teenage kids that flushed the toilet and used 22 rolls and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

This kind stuff. So I had

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

factor that into this.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

conversation, which is all said and done, right? So

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

now they're

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

getting older and I.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

was like, okay, now we're gonna move up to Charmin or

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Whatever the

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

brand is. Uh, angels, angel Soft or something, right? so we have

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

these,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

soft toilet papers,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

but I don't necessarily always put the.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

toilet paper in every room because apparently I.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Wow.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

So I make sure that you get the softest, most lux toilet paper in the powder

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Bathroom. Oh my god.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

story.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Great story.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

True

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Wow.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

so we've got the

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

This toilet paper, I always have one. We always set master

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

room

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Here,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

have this,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

brand called

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

this

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

is a plug because you need to buy it. The Loom is

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the, is the, and it's called uh, Blackberry and Absolute

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Say that

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

before, every time I walk in that

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

powder

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

bathroom. That

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

that diffuser and it,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it, it's just a, a

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

beautiful

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

sink. So your powder

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

bathroom

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

a, a nonsense to it, right? The other little detail is it always has a little lamp on,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

you.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

you know, you know what lamp, uh, wattage is, is an appliance fault,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Mm.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

right? So it's only 25 watts. So it goes back

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

lamp, so it goes

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

to the single.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

little detail. So that's a lamp, 25 watts.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

The is,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

detail is

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

don't skip on the trash.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

can. People

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Don't get one of Walmart plastic.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

ones. Get, and don't put,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Also, don't put a plastic bag in.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

it. is not your, this is not your kitchen,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh, there, there is a Kroger bag in every

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I was getting to say my,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

my mama uses a a grocery bag.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

I cannot do that. See, you're a bad designer. Clean

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Trash,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

can out and wipe it out with the Clorox bleach. I love using Clorox bleach. Either way, the nicest

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

trash can. So those little details of how the bathroom,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

is

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

where I stay focused on,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Did you learn a

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I've LI learned the next time I'm coming over, I'm bringing my own damn toilet paper.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

say,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Toilet toilet paper in the, in the bathroom now.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

or just,

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Poop

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

gotta poop

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

before you go.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Dwayne.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Oh. You know, oddly enough, when we were just in, uh, on vacation with Jeremy's family, a few, a few weeks ago, they had the saddest toilet paper at the, the rental house. So I sure did drive to the little Harris Teeters right around the corner, and they got me some Charmin. I said, not on my butt. Mm-hmm. Not today. Mm. And when we left, we brought the rest with us My last little tip for things that I think people either overlook or don't know that they could use, and it would really change the way that their home works, is a drip line irrigation. And I know that has absolutely nothing to do. With home design. But lemme tell you, my backyard, when, when my husband and I got married, we registered for our backyard. Basically we were gonna gut the backyard and do all this planting and stuff. Well, we, I had already done the front inside of the house and it's kinda like my therapy at night to go out when it's summer and water everything. Well, I can go out and waste an hour, right? If I have it. Um, just relaxing and water and walking around and being in my little, you know, my little, my little, my neighborhood and just loving it. Well, as much

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

remind you, he's probably got a calf tan on in his gaber hood, and the people that have told me his neighbors said

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

the worst

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

gaber ever. So you go

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Oh God.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

I'll, they're

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

they're trying to compete with you. They're tired of competing with you and you're

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

there is no competing.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

green

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Hmm.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

tree, that's the size of a house.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Aren't,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

of it.

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

aren't you tired, hilly.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

So when we did the backyard, I was like, I cannot add a backyard. I have to go do this. And so the guy who was helping us with the planting and stuff, he said, why don't we do a, basically it's like a drip line irrigation. So it's not like a true irrigation system where it is, you know, it's connected to the water, uh, like straight out hose and, and pipe and, and all that kinda stuff. So it's just all done through big plastic hoses that attach to the outdoor spigots that are out there. It, it runs to every plant. To every pot, anything that's in the outside, and it waters it on the schedule and I don't have to take care of it. And it just does it and it,

stuart_1_06-17-2025_090607:

Hmm.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

An expensive endeavor or.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

it wasn't, no.'cause you know, like, I mean, it's all relative, right? So I would probably say what it cost was probably like$1,500. To do, to, to do everything. And we're talking about along the fence line, we're talking about, you know, 12 horn beams. We're talking about hydrangeas, we're talking about box. You know, God only knows how many boxwood at this point.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

if it saved two plants and they didn't die, that's, that's worth

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah,

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

and time right

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

yeah. And so, um, and then like, and then it goes to the pots again. Like that's the thing where I don't have to worry about worrying about the pot, it's just mm-hmm. Mm. So it, you know, we looked into having. An irrigation, a true irrigation system put out in the front yard. And Lord, it was so expensive and I thought, this is, you know, it's fine. It's fine. I'll just pull out a little, uh, a little sprinkler if I have to. It gets real hot outside, it's fine. Um, but the back that has changed the way that, because we're able to just leave it. We can leave and go outta town and not worry about whether the plants are gonna die. And I don't have to go out when it's 265 degrees outside and in my fat little butt just coming out there trying to water everything sweltering to death. Um, but I didn't know that these existed and it totally, it.

dwayne_1_06-17-2025_090607:

don't, this is knowledge I don't have.

jeremy-guest818_1_06-17-2025_090608:

Yeah, so I, and again, I didn't install it. Chris, our, our wonderful landscaper guy, he took care of it. And he comes every year and he'll, he'll hook it up, he'll make sure all the little heads work on it, and then he'll, um, come back at the end of the year and then he'll take everything off, take the timers and everything, and it's like, it's, mm, it's worth every penny. Every penny. Well, I hope that today maybe you learned something maybe you should do in your home, or if you've heard us say one of these before, maybe you know what? Maybe I should try that because I promise these will make you happy in your home. I think it will. I mean, all of these, you know, these will make how you use your home in a completely different way.
