For some reason, that computer,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:I know.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:it fought me tooth and nail this morning and it took forever and I was almost in tears, but I got it done and I rushed home and washed this body real fast to get out here to do this.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Get my
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:today we are fresh off Stuart's first appearance in our live sale that we have through our app and Facebook and Instagram. Um, but that was your first time last night. You did an excellent job.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:it was my first time. I just went into it blind. Literally. Since. You know, those of you who don't know that when it's live, and the lights you have to use, and you know, all these movie star problems, if you wear glasses, they make big circles and you look like a bug. the glasses that we have to wear are,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:I wear I wear bifocals, so
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:know that.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:I do. So reading was a little bit of a challenge, so I just had to wing it.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:So I have many pairs of the same red pair of glasses. So I just knocked my lenses out and, um, and I can see close up. It's just when it gets to that computer type and it's about three feet away. I'm just like, no, I can't see that. So I have to rely on other things, but I don't know how much you could see last night, but you know,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, I mean, I can see. I just can't legibly put words together unless it's like one of those, like zoom
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:zoom in with your hand type deal, then
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:make it work. Uh, yeah, no, it was, it was fun. It was good. Um, I think. Me not knowing really what product was coming up next made it better for me, because usually if I'm, uh, in a, in a speech or a something like that, if I'm prompted with something, I'll fuck it up every time I will. And I have learned over the years with many things that I have spoken at people like, where's your script? I'm like, oh, please. I'm unscripted today, like, I'll know, like, the 4, main points, but then everything else gets built in. So to me, that actually made it easier.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Good.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Um,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, just to let you know, even though we put like, I think last night we got through every item that we put up. No, that's not true. I know I can think of two things that I didn't put up. She just didn't think about, um, but we usually 23, 25 items in to show and then if Dwayne's involved. He gets exhausted about 16 items in and he's like, I'm done. I'm just done. So there's more out of, so you never know, like we put stuff in and you just never know what you're actually gonna make it on.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:um, I think, you know, I went back and watched bits and pieces of it after I got home and, you know, that I could actually see people's comments and, you know, because I had glasses on. And, um, so it was interesting, you know, I mean, I didn't realize that many people tuned in.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I guess it's a fascinating, um, you know, we talked about this on here before about how retail's changing and, we're just trying to keep up with the kids cause Lord, you know, God, it's hard. cause it just keeps changing, but, it's a fascinating little thing to be part of it. Cause I love the interact ability, interactivity, however you would say that, um, because you can ask questions and we try to give you instant answers. Um, and then you can watch it in the replay afterwards if you can't. Watch it live. But, um, you know, like last night we had, uh, Patricia who's on, who's been, we didn't have her on. She was watching last night and participating. And she has, I don't know how many times that she's ordered online. Um, but she's ordered enough to where I recognize her name. And only because there's two different names that. The order is placed under one name and it ships to another name. And every time I go to put the label on the box, I'm like, is this the right person? So she, she's stuck out in my mind. Um, but you know, she always says like, this is her little happy time. And I think it's a great way for us. You know, we, we hear, you know, every week that we're the store, the storefront, the brick and mortar is a lot of people's happy place. And I think that our on online Avenue for our store has also then created that happy little place for people to come. Because there's a lot of people that show up every week and I love that.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah, that's and that's kind of what amazed me. And, you know, maybe we add a twist to it the next time that we need to put a little Patsy and Adina in it and have a glass of Chardonnay as we talk and we can toast our guests.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, oh, there we go. Well, well, Dwayne doesn't drink. I
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, he can have sparkling
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:he, yeah, now listen, I had, I have had plenty of bourbons while we've been on. So,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:there may have been vodka in my Sprite last night. Maybe.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:uh, but you know, it's late. And you know, a lot of people who do their lives, they do them later than we do. They won't start till like eight o'clock and Lord at eight o'clock. I'm like, I'm ready to go to bed, you know, last night after we finished. Um, so it was about almost an hour, I don't remember what time we finished. And then I got, involved in trying to fix something on online and I didn't leave the store till. 830. I got to get home from nine o'clock. Cause I had to wait in line at the blasted. Oh, I'm not even going to say what name of fast food
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh, I know because we had to wait in line too because as, you know,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:last night, I had my five and a half year old with me and tried to get her food before we came and then sat in line and line and line and still didn't get to order. So, we just left and came.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:no. I didn't realize that part. I heard,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:we still We sat in line for 31 minutes and still didn't get to order. So finally I just backed up and left. I was like, we got to go. She's like, but daddy, I need some nuggies. And I said, well, you're going to have some peanut butter crackers and we'll get some nuggies afterwards.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, after when I got home or when my little boy homicide ran through a drive through and you know, the whole idea of a drive through is that, you know, it's supposed to be fast and, um, it was, I mean, I know I waited at least 20 minutes and I was the only person in line now, here's the deal. I realize it's nine o'clock and I know that. You know, they don't have a lot of hot food, hot and ready to run out the door. Right? Like I got that right. I ordered. Then the little guy comes, she, she goes, will you pull up to that parking spot? And I'll bring it out to you. I was like, yeah, sure. So I pull up and I'm sitting there and I'm talking to mom on the phone and she's like, are you home yet? I'm like, no, I'm still waiting. And she's like, Oh, well, is this, are they bringing it to you? I was like, I hope so. They told me they were going to, and so he finally comes up and he's like, here, I'm sorry for your weight. And I'm like, oh, that's okay. And he hands me this itty bitty little bag. And I had ordered some chicken and, a drink and a fry or regular fries come with it. And, they'd already given my drink and he hands me over this little bag and it has like 10 pieces of, chicken in it. I can tell it's a small box and then like, he's running back in and I'm like, wait, where's my fries? I don't, don't I get fries? And I was so, and so I was so aggravated. I just pulled off. I was like, I'm done. And then I got home and I opened the box and there was my chicken, but no dipping sauce. And I almost drove back over and burnt it down last night. I was so frustrated because it was 9 30. Yeah. I'm eating dinner and I was just screw it. I'll just, you
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yes. Oh, great. I get it.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Um, well, I'm glad you had a good time. I
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah, it was,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:it's something that we're enjoying doing and we're going to try to start doing a lot more live things in the future. I don't even know how much I've told you all yet, but we're getting ready to change the company that hosts our app. And so when we do that, there's going to be a lot of new and different things that we can do, and it makes it easier for all the viewers, viewers won't have to do anything different to, to update their app, so they'll never know, but it'll be good. So I'm very excited about that. So
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:We'll prepare for our live sale at market
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:that's, Oh yeah, that's right. Cause we, we do, we do want to do some live sales for market. So that'll be
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:and I will have a beverage at that.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Lord, we, uh, yeah, we're going to, uh, we're definitely going to need it. Um, okay. Well, I'm glad you had a good time with that. All right. Well, so the other thing I wanted to chat about was you were on vacation then, last week I was on vacation. And then while the week that we were recording this, Dwayne's on vacation. So, um, ideally after he gets back, we should all be fresh eyed and bushy tailed. Although,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:look what season we going
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I know, this is crazy. Um,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:There might be some bushy tails, but there ain't
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:yeah.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:fresh eyes.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:When you were out on vacation, joining that recorded one, and it was basically like, get to know each other better. Cause even though we've worked together for 20 years, there's like a lot of stuff we didn't know. And there's some fun things that we ended up finding out. and he called it speed dating, which he said it was like Tinder swipe left, swipe right. And both of the funny thing is neither one of us have ever been on it. And so we have no clue what you would do. So who, you know, there's no swiping. But yes, I thought today would be interesting because, if the average listener who listens to this knows that Dwayne can talk forever. I
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:the same story
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:the same story!
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:forever that he doesn't realize he just told us all.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:it's, it's so funny that, you know, after like our first or second episode, um, was released by my mother in law, she goes, and she was like, Oh, I'm really enjoying your podcast. She goes, it's really fun to, you know, just to. Just a, it's a fun break in real life. Right. And she's like, wow, that Dwayne, he can talk can't he. And it's funny when we go to, I have to go to edit. The way that our system works is it transcribes our speech and then I can edit from the visual text. And so you see these long columns of texts and I'm like, well, I know who that is. All right. So I'm going to ask you some questions and they're just. I'm going to call them rapid fire, but I'm not going to like throw him at you really super quick. Um, so if there's something funny or we'll just, you know, we'll just get off on. To talk about whatever, but I thought they were interesting. All right. What is your latest guilty pleasure? Stuart hurt.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh, good Lord. You know, this is probably a guilty pleasure for many, many people and has been for a long, long time, but I have never really been a television fanatic.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:hmm.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:some shit. And I'm like, I, now I know why people do this because you can just sit there and not think about a thing. Like one. thing. And I'm sure I'm very, well, I know where many shows behind what the normal population is, is because I never watched TV. Like it wasn't something that I always had to have on. Whereas a lot of people always have it on and they're always engaged in it. To me, it was more background noise. Like if I was home alone, I'll put it on, but I never really paid attention to it. Now I'm paying attention to all of it. So I'd say that's a guilty pleasure for me.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:You know, in our house growing up, like we had like the main television and then at some point when they became a little more affordable, but let's be honest back then they still weren't affordable, they were expensive. Um, so, I mean, when I'm talking like when I'm in my, no, this TV was itty bitty now I'm thinking about what I had in my bedroom, like it
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:The 12 inch black and white.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:it was color. I did have color, but I mean, it might've been like 12, 14 inches. It was tiny. You know, I still had something I could watch. Um, but we, I was really active when I was in school, like with, as far as like band and academic team and all that. And so like, I didn't get home till nine o'clock every night anyway. So we didn't, I didn't watch a ton then. Um, But I do, uh, the funny thing is, is the guilty pleasure for me is also, a little bit of television, but it's either one of two things and it's Schitt's Creek, which is my favorite show of all time. And I've watched it beginning just to end four billion times. Um, and I mean, Golden Girls goes without saying, but my, my other like silent little guilty pleasure is I love me a Hallmark movie. It's just like mindless fodder, and I can just watch it and I know what's gonna happen, and it's fun, and nobody's shot, and nobody's stabbed. And, well, so maybe I should Christmas movies or the seasonal movies, not the murder mysteries, because people do die there, but it's not like violent that you see most of the time. Um, but it's just, it's again, it's a chance for my brain to stop.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:is. And that's like the only time it stops. I'm like, uh.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:And
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:But then sometimes you get one of those shows, it gets you in your feels, and I'm like, Oh, turn it off. No more of those today. Give me a murder
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh, Lord, you know what showed you my husband, I used to, uh, we used to, when this is us started many, many, many years ago, we started watching that and, oh Lord, we got sucked in and then eventually, you know, deeper and heavier it got. And you know, then we started having to be like, okay, we've got to be in the right mindset to watch this. Like, you've just got to like,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Like, I just, I just started that this
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:oh God, well we stopped. We
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:I mean, we're, well, we didn't, we got to like season six or something after the, right after the fire. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then I had to quit. So we haven't finished it
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I don't, I don't know what season we got to, but it was just, it had gotten so, so much. And I was like, I, I don't want to cry every Wednesday or whatever night it came on. I just couldn't do it. I just, I, you know, I had enough stress going on, but it's, it was a wonderful show. When you were in school, what was, so it could be middle school, high school, whichever, uh, college, what was your best. Or what was your favorite subject? We're going to say best. Cause I think a lot of times we're really good at things. It's not our favorite.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:You know, I don't know. I don't want to be that person and be like, Oh, I loved art. Cause everybody loved art. But as far as like, um, I think probably history, um, and that's the one I consistently got. A's and B's in, whereas some of the other subjects I didn't do so well, but that's the one I consistently got good grades. So I would say that one.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:you know, I don't know if I can pick one. Um, cause I really just really didn't care. I mean, I was one of those students who was really good in school. I got the A's everywhere. Um, I didn't have to study. I just, I'm an incredible test taker. Um, I can deduce and figure it out without having to know much of it. And, um, And so I graduated and I don't remember a whole lot. I don't know a whole lot.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, it's funny because there's, there's always this one, and I still have a dream about it to this day. I was in college and I think it was junior year. I had to take some cross cultural requirement class, you know, to, to fill the, whatever, to fill the hours. And it was called Modern People of the Tribal World. I don't recall going to that class ever, but I got an A in it. And, and to the life, I can't even tell you where it was on campus, but my report says I got an A. And I have no, I can't tell you one thing about that class.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I think we all have some of those classes. Like I still dream to this day that like, there's classes I didn't finish. And they're gonna be like, Oh, Hey, you didn't finish your degree. You didn't go, you didn't finish this class.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:and I think that's why it randomly pops into a dream with me if I'm stressed out or something I'm like, I never graduated college, but I did
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:well for me, it's not like in high school, that's what, so high school is a really hard answer. Cause I'm just like, I enjoyed kind of basically everything. I don't like to read. Um, that just wasn't something that was built into me. I'm so much more visual. Um, if there's something for me to learn, I'd rather much learn it through a video, through a, uh, pictures than trying to read it and figure it out. I'm not, I don't do well that way. Um, Um, so I think that kind of helps me with what we do. Although a lot of the stuff that I ended up, so like, if I, if I'm trying to figure out something, the first thing I do is I go to YouTube and I try to figure it out that way because I'm like, Oh, if I can see it and hear it and, and look at it, then I'm like, Oh, I got this. This is easy. Um, but in college there was a semester. So my degree was in apparel design, visual merchandising. Um, but not so much apparel design, but more visual merchandising and graphics and publications and graphic design. So. You know, you have your gen ed courses. You have to take, well, I ended up one semester having historical costume, which sounds like you're studying like, you know, costumes in a play, but it's really the clothes that people wore, why they wore them, how it changed all those kinds of things. Okay. The same semester I had, I don't know, I can't remember if it was European history, if it was American history, I may have had both of them. And then at the same time, I also had, um, the history of French civilization.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Lord you were stuck in the 1800s
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Listen, no, the fascinating thing was that every class that I had started at the basically about this, this, well, the French one started earlier than this, but, um, it caught up to the rest of them. And almost after like maybe the first week and a half, two weeks, every class after, or every like week or month after that, um, we were on the same time period. And it was so fascinating to be able to see how events in the world affected different things. Around the world. And so, and what it did for me was it really tied this picture. It took the, it took the picture of just like, you know, if you took like us history, you just, you see it in like these really small little details. You know, the U S we're not that old. I mean, we're just not right compared to other countries, other civilizations around. And so when you study it, you're like, well, okay, there's been a lot that's happened. But not that much that's happened. I mean, you know, so then you look at these other places around the world and then you see how this war in this place then affected the people going to this area and then how that changed that community and that civilization and then how that affected language and then how that affected what they wore and then this other great You know, um, disease epidemic happened. And then when that happened, all this, I mean, it's a, you see, so you see it in a much grander picture. And I loved that because I was like, Oh, this actually tells the full story. Um, this isn't just like a small little, like you're focusing on the area. And for me, that was my, probably my favorite semester I ever had in school was because literally every class I could connect all the dots. Through like through that week, like I could be like, Oh, this is how this all happened.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah, that's cool. That sounds good. And kind of like you I don't like to read either I'll preface that with I like to read if there's content so Uh, basically, you know fantasy novels romance novels all that kind of shit. I don't like to read all that shit
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:You're not reading that smut.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:I will watch my smut, but I'm not gonna read it. I will read to learn something. So, yeah,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah. I, you know, like I think the last book, this is the setting that the last book I read was an autobiography of, um, Chelsea Handler. Wait, it was maybe not. It was one of Chelsea Handler books, which was hysterical. The one before that was a Kathy Griffin book, which was hysterical because it's all written from their tone of voice. right. The one that I read, I tried to read before that was, uh, was it Barbara I don't know. It was, it was just so like, Ooh, I couldn't do it. Um, and then like before that was the Da Vinci code that tells you I haven't, I'm just not, uh, you know, yeah. All right. If you could have a superpower, what would you, and you could choose it, what would it be? I know immediately. I would either. So I had a dream when I was a kid and you remember Bobby's world. It might have been after you were a kid, but, uh, Bobby's world was, uh, Howie Mandel. He played this little character named Bobby and it was his family and he had like a little tricycle and he could jump on his little tricycle and that tricycle could fly. Now, I don't know if this was just in like the, the, the opening scenes or if this was really part of the show, but in my mind, it was part of the show. Now, as I look back and I would either, without a doubt, I would fly because I just, I would love to go wherever I'd love to see, I just would love to fly. Or I would love to be able to swim, like be underwater. And I think both of that is just being able to move in a way where you're free.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Right.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah. Without a doubt. That would be it. I
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I, we might have to revisit that.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:mean, none of these are, you know, earth shattering important. Um, what was the last concert you went to?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Uh. Well, there were two right next to each other, and I'm trying to think of which one was It was Carrie Underwood,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh, when was that?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:uh, about this time last
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh, well I thought about this and I thought, where did I go? And I was like, much like you, there's three. And I'm like, I can't remember what order they went in. But then I thought about, I'm like, God, they were the gayest contact. I went to Elton John, Celine Dion and, Cher. And,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Right there.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:you know,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:All queens of
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I, we had seen, we've seen Cher. Oh my God. If you people listening, if you have not seen Cher, even if you're not a huge Cher fan, you've got to go see the show because it is the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen. We have been fortunate enough to be able to see her probably four or five times. and the shows are very similar. It doesn't change too much, but she does put on a good show. But my favorite part is the song that she sings with, uh, is it Peter Sater? I don't remember after all, I don't remember who she sings it with, but it used to be, there would be like a little boat. That would bring her out onto the stage. She'd get off the boat, walk around, sing, and then get back on the boat and get off. This last tour, she said, bitch, I'm staying on the boat. The boat came in on stage left, slowly crept across the stage the entire way. She never got off. And then she got up on stage, right? And changed
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Like, I ain't
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I love that. The other great share story I have is when we were, so this is probably 20 years ago. This is when she had her first farewell tour. She wasn't going to anymore. And she came to Lexington. We didn't get tickets. My husband, he was a boy, my boyfriend at the time he went with his cousin. Um, but I didn't get to go and I was so devastated so I got his tickets to go see her in Dayton because I thought this is it. I'm not gonna get to see it. And I didn't get to see Tina Turner and I, and I regret that. So that's my biggest regret is not going to see Tina Turner. Um, and I was like, I'm not missing Cher. So, we go to Dayton and it starts. And in that concert, she came down from the ceiling on a mirror ball. Um, and I don't remember what song she came down, uh, to, oh, it's that one that she did the, the cover, that U2 song, she comes down and she starts early and she also has a cold. Right, so she's coming down, the ball starts, and then she's like, I have a Oh, shit! And it was as it was as clear as day! And I and then she paused, and then she came back when it was supposed to come back in. And that was one of my favorite, my share
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:that's hilarious. That's hilarious.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Um, do you have a go to karaoke song?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Live like you were dying.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Is that the Tim McGraw song?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Way to bring it down.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, cause I can adjust my voice to that
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Okay.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:It's pretty easily, so.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:You know, we have friends who love karaoke, and I love to go karaoke. Mm hmm. I do not need to be amplified. Mm mm. Mm mm. Mm mm. Um, what is the most valuable thing that you've learned in your job? And you can read into that however you wish.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Um, well, because, you know, a lot of people think this child is smoking mirrors.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Mm mm.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:And, um, to an extent, some of it is because you're, you know, you are making a space present itself. But I think the biggest thing is learning that I've learned is how to deal with all the personalities you
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:mm. Mm mm. Mm
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:they run the gamut
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Mm mm. Mm mm. Mm
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:meek to the most bitches all the way through. And it's, you know, and you learn that sometimes you learn the hard way. Um, but what I have learned is kind of how to read it. Before you get too far in to see if you're fit to work for that
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Mm hmm.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:going to jive together,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Mm hmm.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:cut it off at the pass
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:hmm.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:or go full force.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I agree. I think that, um, similarly, the most valuable thing that I've learned is you've got to be authentic, um, be honest, be who you are, and then part of that, I think, then goes further and it's being in tune with yourself. So as long as you're, if you're not putting on something, if you're being in the moment, you're listening, you're being honest. If there's the red flags that are there. You see them, but you've got to listen. You have to listen to those, those red flags. And the thing is, is, you know, originally like any, when anybody starts out in any job, you don't want to tell anybody, no, you don't want to, you don't want to ruffle any feathers,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Cause you want to get that under your belt,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Um, but being able to have that sense of, uh, yes, no. Oh, this is going to become a problem. Um, just that, that gut sense that is that without a doubt, that's the number one, like the most valuable thing.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Right. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Uh, Sir, what is your favorite curse word?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:I say that a lot. Uh, you know, I'm not going to win the parenting award for saying this one, but my, my little, my little sponge that sits in the back seat is allowed to only say that in the back seat of the car. Because I know I say it often, and I can't give her a reason why she shouldn't, especially if it's used correctly, so.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:have some friends who their little daughter, when she started, uh, preschool, um, being ran by this church, she, uh, She knew all of them and she knew how to use them all. And everybody at the daycare was like, Oh my God.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, and thankfully, knock on wood, Allie, you know, because her school is at the Episcopal Church as well, and, you know, I'm like, oh, thankfully they're real liberal, but. Lord, just don't start that potty mouth. There is a short, funny story about that. We were, we were building a little like craft house in our, you know, like the most kits you put together and we were building it. She couldn't get to go together. Right. That's how you just got to breathe and think about it. We'll, we'll figure it out. We'll figure it out. It's okay. She's like, I am so. Man, I started stomping through the kitchen. I said, where are you going? She goes, I'm going to the driveway to get in the car. And she's going to go say shit in the car because she knew that's where she could say it. So,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I don't think there's any doubt that what my favorite word is. And that's fuck. Uh, unfortunately I use it a lot and it's not even like, it's just sometimes it's the only word that will work for many different occasions. Um, and you can use it in so many different ways. And I know that word, makes many people blush. I don't understand it, Um, but you know, my favorite story about this is we had, um, we, there were some cute socks that we got for the store just years ago. And some of the, they had like funny little sayings on them. And, uh, like one of them said ring master of the shit show. Uh, one of them said, uh, if you can read on the bottom of if you can read this, bring me wine, like, you know, things like that. Well, my favorite, my favorite pair were a pair that said, fuck this shit.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Right, it had the guy with the little hatchet.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:had, and he was had a little hatchet and he was cutting firewood. And I remember when we saw it, we were like, oh, this is like, this is a little cra. Well, I wasn't like that. Dwayne was really concerned. He was like, I don't think our customers are gonna appreciate this. I'm like, I just give it a try. Like I think, I think these are hysterical. Like I think we know, we know six people. I think it's what you get. I was like, we know six people that would buy this for a gift for somebody just outta humor. Right? And they were like dress socks, but they, all of the stuff was high enough on the sock that you could wear'em my dress pants and nobody could see them. I won't say dress socks, but they were, you know, they were like that,
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, that's also when we sold fashion in the store.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:we also have fashions those other stuff.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:throw it on in there as one thing.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:so we got them in and of course, you know, we're processing when we're putting out And of course the girls in the store, they're laughing and they're loving it, you know, whatever, but they're also like, oh, I don't know Well, listen listeners we put this out these my favorite ones did not last any time because these little little older Women came in and they just started wiping us out. They bought them all. They were giving them to their bunco groups. They were giving them to their best girlfriends.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:The
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:They were, they're great. And I'm like, okay, well I'm glad people have a sense of humor. So, you know, we always think that it can turn a lot of people off. I realize children, it's kind of harsh, but you know, whatever. All right. Um, what item do you hope is obsolete in 20 years?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Uh, what item is obsolete?
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Or do you want to be? I want to be, I like just, you're just over
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Parking meters. You should not have to pay for parking downtown. You want people to go downtown and revitalize downtown. Don't make them pay six dollars to go down to a restaurant. No more parking meters. Take them down. There you
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I'm okay with that. By the time I get, by the time I get downtown, it's, you don't have to pay. So I don't know. But I, I agree with you.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:But you do now in all those
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I don't know, not on all of them. So there's some places I know, but it's, it is, it's aggravating. Um, uh, and I know this is going to scare people keys. I need to, I need to carry one less thing.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Yeah, keys. Yeah, I can see
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I scan my eyes, scan my fingerprint.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh,
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I don't care. I'm fine with it. I, you know, I'm not going to say implant me with something.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:mean, but there are locks you can open with your phone.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:yeah, but there's, but there's concerns about the security of some, but I think in 20 years we can do away with so much of this stuff.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Right, but I would rather open it with my phone and have somebody steal my phone and cut my eyeball out to get in
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:That's what I'm saying. No.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Steal my phone and then rob me. Don't make me blind and then rob
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I figure if you can walk into the Apple store and then you just say, hi, I'm here. I have an appointment. And then 15 minutes later, the person comes up to you with their name and knows what your problem is. There has to be some ways that we can make all this much
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, absolutely. There is
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:I'm not usually scared of technology. Um, I always think that we can incorporate it in different ways, but there needs to be some regulations. Cause you know, there's some crazy people. Regulations are not a bad thing, people.
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:no, they're not.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Um, okay. So last question, if you were famous, what would your stage name be?
stuart_1_10-10-2024_090413:Well, I've had one of those before. So, uh, well back then it was lady Natasha. I think now on stage, I'd be Lance Goodthrust.
jeremy_1_10-10-2024_090413:Oh God, I almost blacked out. Oh God. You know, I don't, I don't, I, People have all these cute little names and I'm like, I don't, I don't know.
